Meghan Markle, 37, is admired across the world for her fashion choices. Setting trends among fans, the fashion-forward Duchess of Sussex often steps out in some rather pricey designer outfits. And, as well as having officially joined the Royal Family in May this year, the royal has now been crowned with another huge honour. Indeed, Meghan has made it onto Vogue Magazine’s list of the best-dressed women in 2018.

The retired actress – who before becoming a royal was best known for playing Rachel Zane in Suits – was among a list of very famous names.

For instance, Meghan is sharing the huge honour with Zoë Kravitz, Gemma Chan, and Lady Gaga.

It seems that the publication were delighted with the style choices of the actress-turned-royal.

That is in part due to her incredible bridal gown, which she wore for her nuptials to Prince Harry, 34, at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, back in May.

The stunning white dress was designed by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy Haute Couture.

Her incredible outfit featured an open bateau neckline.

She also wore a five-metre long veil, which had delicate hand-embroidered flowers of each Commonwealth country – as well as the wintersweet and the California poppy, which are two of Meghan’s favourite flowers.

Vogue also noted Meghan’s high-street looks – such as when she wore a polka dot dress from & Other Stories during her first royal tour of Australia, New Zealand, Tonga, and Fiji.

Recently, the Duchess stepped out in a stunning black Givenchy gown, which featured a one-shouldered design.

However, while Meghan made the list, some fans may have noticed that fellow royal Kate Middleton, 36, had not been featured.

Vogue’s Top 10 Best Dressed Stars of 2018:

1. Tracee Ellis Ross

2. Lady Gaga

3. Meghan Markle

4. Zoe Kravitz

5. Zendaya

6. Paloma Elsesser

7. Saoirse Ronan

8. Rihanna

9. Emma Stone

10. Gemma Chan

But, while Meghan’s sister-in-law may not have made the top 10 for Vogue this year, other publication’s seem to have been quick to admire her style.

Back in August, Tatler Magazine unveiled the 30 famous faces who had made their list for top styles in Britain.

The Duchess of Cambridge starred on the list – as did a number of other royals.

As well as the Duchess of Sussex, the feature also included Prince George, Queen Elizabeth II, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

Elsewhere, Meghan – who is currently pregnant with her first child – could have given away a huge clue about her due date, an expert claimed.

Who is Meghan Markle? Quick profile

Meghan Markle was born Rachel Meghan Markle, on August 4, 1981 to parents Doria Ragland and father Thomas Markle.

Her father was previously married to Roslyn Loveless and Meghan has two elder half sibling – sister Samantha Markle and brother Thomas Markle Junior.

Actress

Meghan’s first television appearance in the USA was in an episode of the medical drama General Hospital in 2002.

She later moved on to roles in CSI, Without a Trace and Castle along with bit parts in Hollywood films including Get Him to the Greek, Remember Me and Horrible Bosses.

Meghan was also a “briefcase girl” on Deal or No Deal – but her most famous role was as Rachel Zane in legal drama Suits, which launched in 2011.

She was written out in the finale of the seventh series when her character got married, which aired in April 2018 – just before she got married herself.

Charity and humanitarian work

Meghan Markle’s career in television has gone hand-in-hand with her support for causes close to her heart.

She wrote about the stigma around menstrual health in an article for Time magazine and was a Global Ambassador for World Vision Canada – with whom she travelled to Rwanda for the charity’s Clean Water Campaign.

And her commitment to gender equality has seen her work with the United Nations – receiving a standing ovation in 2015 for her speech to mark International Women’s Day.

Relationships

In September 2011, she wed film producer Trevor Engelson, who she began dating in 2004.

But the pair divorced two years later in August 2013, citing irreconcilable difference.

She was in a relationship with celebrity chef Cory Vitiello for almost two years, before they broke it off in 2016 but the two remain good friends.

And in June 2016, she met Prince Harry on a blind date set up by a mutual friend.

Their relationship began in October that year and just over one year later, on November 27, 2017, the pair announced their engagement.

They married on May 19, 2018 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

Meghan’s heritage

Some have claimed Meghan Markle is the first mixed-race member of the Royal Family.

Historians are still arguing about Queen Charlotte, the wife of King George III.

But Meghan will be the first royal to openly embrace a mixed-race heritage.

She has written about the difficulties of being a biracial actress in Hollywood as she claims she is not black enough for some roles and not white enough for others.
